Agent Compensation Disclosure talking points
When enrolling consumers who are seeking coverage, it is important to provide honest and transparent information – this includes disclosing compensation that the agent and/or agency may earn as a result of the enrollment, per the Consolidated Appropriations Act.
All agents/brokers contracted and/or appointed to sell UnitedHealthcare Individual & Family Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans are required to disclose the following information, prior to the consumer finalizing their plan selection:
- Direct compensation (e.g., commissions) to be received in connection with the consumer’s enrollment in an Individual & Family ACA plan; and
- Indirect compensation (e.g., bonus programs) that may be earned in connection with the consumer’s enrollment in an Individual & Family ACA plan
